使用恰当准确的动词是书写合格履历的关键。设想求职者在履历中表明 ”I involved myself in several Human Resources projects,”,阅读履历的人会对”involve”一词感到困惑。因为求职者并没有说清楚他/她的具体做了什么,求职者可能是人事管理项目策划的带头人,也可能只是文件复印员这类的小角色。在这两种差距悬殊的角色之间,这位求职者也许做了如下人事方面的工作:

Ø selected external vendors (挑选外部供应商)
Ø benchmarked payroll policies of other companies (研究和参照其它公司的工资政策)
Ø hired four people (聘用4人)
Ø fired three others (解雇3人)
Ø coordinated and scheduled transportation for 200 workers (协调和排定200名工人的交通问题)
Ø reviewed employee performance with a superior (与上司一起审阅职工工作表现) 等等。
